{Who Wore it Better?}

I'm sure you've seen those spreads in the tabloid magazines that give their opinions on who wore a certain dress or outfit better. So, this weeks blog post is all about celebrities copying each other's style. I have posted some of my favorite outfit comparisons and I want to know your opinions on who you think wore it better!

Blake Lively or Alicia Keys?
I Think: Blake's shoe and hair choice go better with the dress and it fits her better over all

Kristin Stewart or Christina Aguilara?
I Think: This dress has a younger feel which makes it more suitable for Kristin to be wearing but I do like that both stars chose a red-lip to go along with the outfit.

Olivia Wilde or Paris Hilton?
I Think: Considering Olivia has more of a fit frame, I don't think the horizontal stripes do anything for her. I think that the dress looks better on Paris overall but I dislike that she chose to wear those black tights with the dress.

Jessica Simpson Or Kanye West?
I Think: Why is Kanye wearing women's apparel? Going with Jessica on this one.

Mrs. Doubtfire or Kim Kardashian?
I Think: Mrs. D is definitely working it with that white bag. Sorry Kim!

{Make Up Must Haves}

The quality of the makeup you buy is important. I always try to aim for better brands of cosmetics because not only are they better for your skin, but they look better over all and it is easier to achieve the look you are aiming for. I have also found brand cosmetics to actually last longer than drugstore brands, so you are essentially getting more "bang for your buck" so to speak. This week, I decided to go through my makeup inventory and pick out the cosmetics I use the most and write a mini review for each one.

1. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

All the hype you see over the Urban Decay Naked Palettes are true. These things are amazing. However, My most favorite is the Naked 2 hands down. The colors mix so naturally together and look great on my olive complexion. It is also very versatile. You can easily create both day and night looks with this just this one palette. The cost is high at around $50, but I use mine frequently and all of the colors are still usable and I've had mine for over a year.

2. Benefit's Benetint Cheek and Lip Stain in "Lollitint"

This is a product that I just recently added to my collection and it already made it to #2 on my list. This cheek and lip stain was modeled after the Pantone Color of 2014, which is "Radiant Orchid." Now, don't let the bright lilac-ish color intimidate you when you first see it in person. The color almost turned me off in the store but I took a risk and bought it anyway. I'm so glad I did because this stain is amazing! the color is perfect for spring and you can layer it to create a darker or lighter look. I'm in love!

3. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer
This stuff is hands down the best eyeshadow primer I have ever used. You apply it before putting on your eye make up and it will seriously last all day. It's like a magnet for eyeshadow! I've put this on in the morning around 6:30am and my eyeshadow lasted all day until I washed it off at night. It even made my eyeshadow stay put through my workout in the evening. If you're going to spend money on any kind of primer, this is definitely the best one out there.

4. NARS Highlighter in "Albatross"

This is the most versatile highlighter I have ever come across. It is so popular that it is used as a staple by several celebrity make up artists, including the Kardashian's. But don't let the celebrity hype fool you. This really is a fantastic product. It looks great on just about anyone. I usually apply mine just above my cheekbones to make them stand out a little more. it looks great on pale skin and ever better on tan skin. I've tried other highlighters before but this one definitely works the best when it comes to really accentuating the cheek bones.

5. Anastasia Beverly Hill's Entire Brow Line. Like, Everything.

Anastasia is the queen of the eyebrows. for a while I was using a brow pencil by MAC and yeah, it was getting the job done but I also thought my eyebrows looked kind of "painted on." I was recommended to try the Anastasia line of brow products by a sales associate at Ulta and I never looked back. This line of brow products is so great I can't even say enough good things about it. Everything comes in a wide variety of colors to match every brow hue and the look you get from using these products is so natural. I receive many compliments on my "perfect brows" thanks to using her products. I currently use the brow pencil, the powder, and the tinted brow gel and they are all great.

So there you have it! It was difficult to pick out all my must haves so I limited the list to only 5. If I put up all my must haves I would have been here all day! I hope I gave you some helpful reviews on these products.

{Top 3 Fave's For Online Shopping}

Have you ever gone to the mall on a Saturday and came across the cutest top that you knew right then and there that you needed to purchase?

Of course you have.

I'm sure you have also experienced the dreaded conundrum that also frequently occurs with mall shopping---- Going out with your girlfriends that same night wearing the coveted shirt and someone else in the bar is rocking the same exact top you had just bought only hours prior.

Major bummer! (But you have to admit, you saw that coming from a mile away.)

Reasons like this are why I almost always prefer online shopping over the dreaded mall. Sure, you don't have to worry about shipping costs and you get instant satisfaction with mall shopping, but that also comes with the big chance you'll be twinning with a total stranger. Online stores are fantastic. There are no crowds, more variety, and when your items finally arrive in the mail, it's the best feeling ever! I like to think of them as mini "presents" from myself.

SO without further a due, for my first official blog post, I decided I would introduce my top 3 favorite (for now) online shopping destinations.

{#1: ASOS.com}

ASOS is basically the be all/ end all for runway inspired fashions for less. Sure, some items do come with a hefty price tag, but I tend to avoid those for expensive reasons. Their database is huge and you can adjust your price point to fit your budget. I really can't say enough good things about this website. You'll have to check it out via the link provided to see for yourself if you haven't already. It's also where 21-year-old me got this amazing dress I wore to my sorority's formal back in 2011(orangey spray tan was not included..yikes!)

{#2: SheInside.com}

This website is kind of like Forever21 meets Nasty Gal. It sometimes requires a little bit of digging to find the perfect item you are looking for, but the price is right and they have a ton of variety with amazing sales. It's definitely easy to locate a trendy outfit on here. It's also home to this gorgeous bohemian-style maxi dress that I have been eyeing ever since stumbled across it on Pinterest:

{#3 Tobi.com}

With more of an edgier style, Tobi is a good choice for anyone searching for the perfect party outfit. They also have some pretty stellar prices and you even get 50% off your first order when you join the website AND 30% new arrivals daily. Talk about a deal! They're constantly bringing in said new arrivals which is great for keeping on top of the trends. I just recently bought this adorable top that I was inspired to purchase from an outfit I saw on Pinterest and I can't wait for my little "present" to arrive in the mail:

So there you have it! There are so many other amazing online shopping sites out there but I just went with the ones that I frequent the most.

Also, since most photos have the best quality outdoors, hopefully when the weather lets up a little I will be able to take photos of some of my own outfits to share with all of you.

Until next time....<3

{Welcome}

Hello! Welcome Saavies to my new blog all about the lifestyle and fashion choices of all you twenty-somethings out there. The main idea is you can still look good without having to spend a fortune at the mall. I plan to showcase some of my own outfit creations and how most of them are found with some kind of bargain or from various consignment stores. In addition to the fashion aspect of this blog, I also will be sharing some of my own beauty tips as well as testing out and reviewing tips I come across while browsing the internet. Think of me as your own personal guinea pig doing the "dirty work" trying out those beauty tips you've seen around but haven't actually tried. I hope you enjoy the posts I have to offer and maybe even learn a thing or two along the way!
